By addressing two main challenges—ensuring restricted access for subscribers and enabling seamless user-generated artwork management—the team engineered a robust solution. The custom Shopify app integrates Shopify’s Subscriptions API and customer account extensions to verify subscriptions and allow users to easily upload and manage their artwork. Notably, media uploads are streamlined using Bytescale, and backend processes are handled through a Remix routes API, which connects user submissions to an internal PostgreSQL database hosted on Heroku. An intuitive admin panel further empowers Shopify administrators to review, curate, and publish artworks, ensuring only vetted pieces are showcased.
